BISCAYNE NATIONAL PARK 2-DAY ITINERARY
Biscayne National Park, located just south of Miami, offers a stunning blend of coastal mangroves, coral reefs, and vibrant marine life. This 2-day itinerary will help you make the most of your visit.
Day 1: Explore the Park
Begin your day at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. Check out the exhibits and watch the park film to get a feel for the unique ecosystems you'll explore. Get your bearings and gather information on any ranger-led programs available during your visit.
Take a short hike on the Biscayne Nature Trail. This easy, 1.2-mile loop offers a chance to see native plants and wildlife. Look for birds and listen to the sounds of nature. Pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of the designated areas near the Visitor Center or find a scenic spot along the coast.
Rent a kayak or canoe to explore the calm waters of Biscayne Bay. Paddle through the mangroves, observing wildlife like manatees, dolphins, and various bird species. If conditions permit, join a snorkeling tour to explore the underwater world. The coral reefs are teeming with colorful fish and marine life. Head to one of the park’s beach areas, like the sandy shores near the Visitor Center, to watch the sunset over the bay. Bring your camera for some stunning shots! Return to Miami for dinner. Try a local seafood restaurant or enjoy Cuban cuisine in Little Havana.
Day 2: Island Adventure
Start your day with a scenic ferry ride to Boca Chita Key. Enjoy the views of the bay during the trip. Once on the island, take a leisurely stroll to the historic lighthouse. The area is perfect for a morning walk and offers beautiful views. Spend some time on the sandy beach, swimming or sunbathing. The crystal-clear waters are ideal for a refreshing dip.
Enjoy a packed lunch or snacks while taking in the picturesque surroundings. Explore the nature trails on Boca Chita. Keep an eye out for unique birds and other wildlife. If you didn't snorkel on Day 1, this is a great opportunity to explore the waters around the island.
Take the ferry back and reflect on your adventures. If time allows, stop by the Visitor Center for any last-minute exhibits or souvenirs. Head back to Miami for dinner, perhaps at a waterfront restaurant to cap off your Biscayne adventure.
Tips for Your Visit
